Twin crashes: 3 killed on NH-9, student on bike injured in Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD: In two separate accidents, three persons were killed while a student was seriously injured in Indirapuram and Tronica City, respectively. “The accident took place around 7am and police were informed 20 minutes later. Parvez was a scrap dealer.“Ankit and Avinash were going towards Shahdara on a bike to pick up Avinash’s younger brother around 3am. As they reached Kala Pathar junction, their bike crashed into Parvez’s cycle rickshaw, which was coming from the wrong side. The driver escaped with the vehicle.The three who were killed were identified as Avinash (22), Ankit (16) and Parvez (23), all residents of Khoda colony .

GHAZIABAD: In two separate accidents, three persons were killed while a student was seriously injured in Indirapuram and Tronica City, respectively. The first accident occurred around 3.30am on Tuesday on NH-9 near Kala Pathar junction in Indirapuram, in which a speeding truck crushed three people under its wheels. The driver escaped with the vehicle.The three who were killed were identified as Avinash (22), Ankit (16) and Parvez (23), all residents of Khoda colony . Ankit and Avinash were disc jockeys and played in weddings. Parvez was a scrap dealer.“Ankit and Avinash were going towards Shahdara on a bike to pick up Avinash’s younger brother around 3am. As they reached Kala Pathar junction, their bike crashed into Parvez’s cycle rickshaw, which was coming from the wrong side. All three fell on the road and were crushed by a speeding truck coming from behind. While Parvez died on the spot, the other two died in Lal Bahadur Hospital in Delhi,” an officer said.The families of the three youths lodged complaints. “We have registered an FIR against unknown persons under sections 279 (rash driving ), 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC,” said Shlok Kumar, SP (city).In the second accident, a 16-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a van on the way to school in Tronica City. Faijjan Nayipura, a resident of Prem Nagar Colony in Loni, was going to write his Class X board exams. He was on a bike with his uncle. “The accident took place around 7am and police were informed 20 minutes later. A police team reached the spot within 15 minutes and took him to a nearby private hospital. The doctors there referred the boy to GTB Hospital in Delhi,” an officer said.Neeraj Singh, the SHO of Tronica City police station, said they were yet to receive any complaint from the boy’s family. “We have arrested the driver and seized the vehicle. An FIR will be registered after a complaint is lodged by the family,” he added.
