95% of hotels and hospitals in Ghaziabad don’t have fire no-objection certificate

GHAZIABAD: More than 95% of the hotels and hospitals in Ghaziabad don’t have the mandatory fire ‘no-objection certificate’ ( NOC ).
“We are surprised to find that only a few hospitals and hotels have the NOC.
The fire NOCs will also be checked,” she added.After the Metro hospital fire, officials had found that hospital had not renewed its no-objection certificate from the fire department since 2017.
Also, 94 residential societies across the district don’t possess the certificate.
The report, prepared by the fire department following an inspection, has been sent to Ghaziabad Development Authority ( GDA ) for action, officials said on Thursday.Sunil Kumar Singh, chief fire officer of Ghaziabad, said the department has been carrying out inspection in hospitals, hotels and housing societies for the past one month.
