Month after 56-year-old went missing, body found in bus

Singh worked as a conductor in the office of Additional Basic Siksha Adhikari of Loni.Raj Kumar Sharma, the SHO of Kavi Nagar police station, said after finishing his work, Singh went to Jawali village in Loni on January 31 to attend the retirement function of a colleague. He was accompanied by four of his colleagues. When Singh did not return home at night, his family contacted his office, from where they came to know that Singh had returned from the function in a car with his four colleagues and was apparently dropped around 9.30pm at Shastri Nagar crossing, just 500m away from his home in Razapur.Singh’s family then filed a missing person’s complaint on February 3.“Singh’s body was found in a tourist bus, bearing a registration number RJ18 PA 5475. During investigation, it was revealed that the bus was seized by the RTO department of Ghaziabad on September 15, 2018 due to lack of papers. An e-rickshaw driver, who was relieving himself near the bus, spotted the body on after a foul smell was emanating from the vehicle,” the SHO added. “,” added Sharma.The body was found 200m away from Kavi Nagar police station. “The windows of the bus facing the main roads were closed and the entry door was also locked inside. Few windows were opened towards the green belt area but that area is not used frequently. Investigation revealed that Singh had consumed a lot of liquor at the party and also brought along half bottle of rum with him. After his friends dropped him at Shastri Nagar crossing, he must have went inside the bus to drink more alcohol We are checking footage from CCTV cameras installed nearby ,” Sharma added.
