GHAZIABAD: Even though there is no official confirmation on inauguration date of projects in Ghaziabad by prime minister Narender Modi , there are enough indications that they will be done on March 8.Flurry of activities on the part of administration and other departments and agencies indicates to this. The administration has prepared a list of 14 projects worth Rs 32,000 crore out of which eight will be inaugurated while Modi will lay foundation stone of remaining projects. The direction that has come from state BJP to its district unit to start preparing for Modi’s visit on March 8 is yet another indication to this.“We are in a ready state for prime minister’s visit which by all accounts - and as per feelers we are getting from Lucknow and Delhi - will take place on March 8,” said an official from district administration. “Accordingly, a list of 14 projects has been prepared by the administration which will either be inaugurated on the said date or foundation stone of which will be laid,” added the official. As per list there are eight projects worth Rs. 1957.16 crore which awaits inauguration including Rs 1781.21 crore Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda Metro line project and Rs 60 crore Civil Terminal at Hindon IAF Base project. The Ghaziabad Development Authority(GDA) on its part has issued tenders worth Rs 88 lakh for pandal and other work for high profile visit. But in the midst of preparations there is also an apprehension that if model code of conduct kicks in before March 8 then inauguration of projects will have to be kept on hold. Allaying such apprehensions, a district-level BJP functionary said that it has been accounted for. “The PMO and even chief minister’s office must be aware of this and whatever preparations and arrangements which are currently underway is not taking place without their knowledge,” said the district level BJP functionary.
