GHAZIABAD: The body of a 20-year-old girl was found on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Monika from Ikla village that falls under Missouri police station’s jurisdiction.Cops assume that she might have met with an accident. Monika was a graduate and preparing for PSC, SSC and UPSC examinations.She was reportedly going to her tuition classes in Delhi when she met with the accident. Sonika Nagar, Monika’s sister is a constable in Meerut and her father retired as head constable in 2008. Monika’s brother Sushil Nagar said she left home around 9am for coaching classes. She always left at that time and returned around 4pm after the coaching classes. “A passerby spotted the body and informed police. The body was sent for autopsy and police are waiting for the reports,” cops said.Om Prakash Singh, SHO of Missouri Police Station, told TOI that after receiving the information about the body, a police team reached the spot.“We were able to identify her through the identity card and mobile phone in her bag and informed her family. It seems that she was trying to cross the road to take a bus when she was hit by a speeding vehicle,” he said. “After a complaint was filed by her family, an FIR under the Section 289 (rash driving ) of the IPC was registred against an unidentified driver," SHO said.
