GHAZIABAD: In a case of road rage , a 23-year-old Delhi resident dragged a cab driver on his car’s bonnet for around one and a half kilometres in Indirapuram’s Kanawani area on Wednesday morning. The youth was trying to flee the spot after hitting and damaging the cab driver’s vehicle, police said.The victim, Veerbhan Singh (42), a resident of Gautam Budh Nagar, said around 11 am on Wednesday he was going towards Noida 62 after dropping a passenger in Vasundhara when an i20 car bearing Delhi’s registration number hit his vehicle (Tata Zest) from behind near Kanawani bridge.The accused has been identified as Rohan Mittal, a resident of Vivek Vihar in Delhi. He was booked under IPC sections 279 (rash driving), 307 (attempt to murder) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) by Indirapuram police.Talking to TOI, Singh said, “After getting out of my car, I asked the driver to park the vehicle on the side so that we can discuss the matter. By that time a cop had also arrived at the spot. He also instructed us to park our vehicles on the side as traffic movement was getting disrupted. The vehicle came to a halt only after a commuter managed to park his motorcycle in the front of the accused’s vehicle.A large crowd had gathered at the spot, and had the sub-inspector not come at the stop immediately, the youth might have been badly thrashed, said Singh.Subsequently, the youth and the driver were taken to Indirapuram police station where the FIR was registered on Singh’s complaint.
