No Covid death in Gzb after 45 days

Ghaziabad/Noida: After 45 days, Ghaziabad on Sunday reported no Covid-related death. The district had reported its first Covid death this year on April 8 and prior to that, Covid deaths were reported on December 29 last year. Between April 8 and Sunday, 311 Covid deaths were reported, the highest being 24 reported on May 4. The toll is now 413

Ghaziabad/Noida: After 45 days, Ghaziabad on Sunday reported no Covid-related death. The district had reported its first Covid death this year on April 8 and prior to that, Covid deaths were reported on December 29 last year. Between April 8 and Sunday, 311 Covid deaths were reported, the highest being 24 reported on May 4. The toll is now 413

About 159 fresh Covid cases were reported on Sunday, the lowest single-day tally for this month. With this, the district’s tally of Covid cases stood at 54,043. As many as 255 patients were discharged from hospitals and home isolation at the same time. Altogether, 51470 patients have recovered and discharged in the district.

District magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has formed a committee to audit bill receipts issued to Covid patients in private hospitals. The three-member committee include revenue department magistrate, an additional chief medical officer and an official from the accounts department. Meanwhile, new cases reported in Gautam Budh Nagar fell below the 200-mark for the first time since mid-April with the district recording the lowest single day tally at 146. Three deaths were reported on Sunday, taking the toll to 417. Active cases were 4177. No vaccination drive was carried out in Ghaziabad and Noida on Sunday.
