Police have filed a complaint against Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar in connection with the beard-cutting of a Muslim elder in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Apart from Swara, the names of Arfa Khanum Sherwani, Asif Khan, Twitter India, and Manish Maheshwar, head of Twitter India, are also included in the complaint.

These people have been accused of making provocative tweets in the matter. Lawyer Amit Acharya has filed a complaint against everyone at Tilak Marg police station in Delhi.

Although the FIR has not been registered yet. Police say that they are investigating the matter.

At the same time, earlier complaints have also been registered against many journalists and politicians in this matter.

The police have registered a case against several people including journalists Rana Ayub, Saba Naqvi, Shama Mohammad, Maskoor Usmani Congress leader Salman Nizami for making misleading posts.

According to the FIR registered, these people have made many tweets without full information, which were retweeted by thousands of people, while Twitter is also under question in this matter.

Significantly, in the case of beating of an elderly man in Ghaziabad, the police have arrested four people so far. The victim claims that those who thrashed him had asked him to chant `Jai Shri Ram`.

Police have denied any communal angle in the case, saying that some six Hindus and Muslims were among those who beat up Sufi Abdul Samad and all were unhappy with the amulets sold by him.
