Patients line up on Talwars' last jail day

"It was almost the last working day for the Talwars inside Dasna prison," jail superintendent Dadhiram Maurya told TOI. Jail officials said the two went to the clinic in the jail hospital despite Sunday being a holiday. However, a number of inmates wanted their dental problems fixed this Sunday because they knew it could be the Talwars' last day in jail. Jail sources said the Talwars are expected to keep visiting Dasna jail periodically in order to en sure their clinic runs properly and the dental problems of inmates are addressed. The CBI court in Ghaziabad, which had convicted the Talwars in November 2013, is expected to issue their release order on Monday.

GHAZIABAD: Rajesh and Nupur Talwar , whose conviction in the murders of their daughter, Aarushi , and do mestic help, Hemraj , was overturned by the Allahabad high court, spent Sunday attending to the dental complaints of Dasna jail's inmates.Sunday , in all likelihood, was their last day in prison. Jail officials said the two went to the clinic in the jail hospital despite Sunday being a holiday."Rajesh or Nupur do not visit the clinic on Sundays except for emergencies. However, a number of inmates wanted their dental problems fixed this Sunday because they knew it could be the Talwars' last day in jail. Nupur also attended to complaints of women patients," they said. The dentist couple also ate the prison lunch -rice, dal and sabzi -along with the other inmates. Jail sources said the Talwars are expected to keep visiting Dasna jail periodically in order to en sure their clinic runs properly and the dental problems of inmates are addressed."In February , when their appeal in the Allahabad high court was in an advanced stage of hearing, the Talwars had told us they would ensure the dental clinic ran properly even if they were released. They had promised they would make weekly or fortnightly visits," said former Dasna jail superin tendent Shiv Prakash Yadav .Though the HC had acquitted the Talwars on October 12, the couple had to stay back in prison as a certified copy of the order had not reached the jail before the weekend. The CBI court in Ghaziabad, which had convicted the Talwars in November 2013, is expected to issue their release order on Monday. Security outside the jail entrance is being strengthened.
