Margao/Bicholim: Various communities in the state are offering special prayers for the speedy recovery of chief minister Manohar Parrikar.Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha along with her constituents will be gathering for a Eucharistic celebration to be held at St Philip and St James Church, Cortalim, on February 25, at 8am, while on February 27, prayers will be offered at Shantadurga temple, Sancoale, at 7pm.On Friday, a prayer service was held at the Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Cortalim.The BJP Bicholim unit on Thursday organised a special prayer meet that was attended by around 100 BJP delegates led by local MLA Rajesh Patnekar along with block president Vallabh Salkar, BMC chairperson Satish Gaonkar and youth wing coordinator Sachin Salkar.The Muslim community is also praying for Parrikar who is back in the state following a nearly week-long treatment for pancreatitis at Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital, Mumbai.
