Porvorim locals give vent to traffic issues

Porvorim: The north Goa traffic police on Thursday sought volunteers from Porvorim to act as wardens to check violations on the highway at Porvorim. Residents said the existing traffic signals were not enough to enforce discipline. “The idea is to resolve issues,” Khaunte said. This was suggested at an interactive meeting convened by revenue minister and local MLA Rohan Khaunte. Some told the police officers that at a few places, the signals were not even visible to motorists joining the highway from the connecting roads.Officers from the traffic cell, PWD (NH), village panchayat, zilla panchayat and others had been called.
