PANAJI: BJP national president Amit Shah will consult chief minister Manohar Parrikar whether there should be a change in leadership of the Goa government and take a decision within a week’s time, a BJP senior functionary said.BJP national general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal on Monday, meanwhile, said that there have been no demands from the BJP’s alliance partners in the state coalition government even as the party’s state core committee members have hinted of an arrangement on the lines of a cabinet advisory committee (CAC) as an interim measure.A team of BJP’s central observers held discussions with party MLAs, functionaries and alliance partners on Sunday after Parrikar was admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi, last week.‘Decision on leadership after consulting Parrikar’Speaking to reporters on Monday, Lal said, “There are no demands from alliance partners and they have given us their suggestions.”A senior BJP functionary told TOI that the party’s central observers will now meet Shah and recommend the formation of a CAC as a temporary solution as state BJP leaders and alliance partners do not see eye-to-eye over who should head the government in the absence of Parrikar.“Shah will take a decision, whether temporary or permanent, within a week’s time after consulting Parrikar,” said a BJP senior leader.Lal, who held an hourlong meeting with state BJP core committee members on Monday, said various matters were discussed including options from within the party itself as an alternative arrangement to lead the state government.
