MARGAO: Former Goa chief minister and Margao Congress MLA Digambar Kamat on Tuesday said “the administration is in a bad state” with the state going backwards”.Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a press conference in Margao, Kamat refuted all speculations of him quitting the Congress party and joining the BJP to head the coalition government in the absence of the ailing chief minister Manohar Parrikar, who has been admitted to the AIIMS, New Delhi. He termed the rumours as “planted stories with no truth in them”.BJP president Vinay Tendulkar on Tuesday, while terming the Congress approaching the governor to stake claim to form the government a stunt by the party to prevent its MLAs from leaving the party, said, “In the next five days, the Congress tally will reduce to 10 from the existing 16 MLAs. I guarantee this 100%.”However, Kamat reiterated the need for a “stable government” and firmly denied being approached by the BJP with the offer of the CM post. “I believe and live in the present and not the past or future. Each one’s destiny is written on one’s forehead. The Congress party leadership will decide upon (who will head the Congress government to be formed) as CM,” he said.
