Mudgal, Raikar in lineup for Pt Jitendra Abhisheki music festival

PANAJI: Renowned classical musician Shubha Mudgal and Goa’s Milind Raikar, a disciple of the late Kishori Amonkar, will be among 16 artistes who will perform at the 14th edition of the Pt Jitendra Abhisheki music festival to be held at Kala Academy, Panaji , on September 29 and 30.The music festival, is organised annually to commemorate Abhisheki’s birth anniversary Raikar, who is a violinist, has also trained in guitar, bongo and vocals. The academy is said to be the first-of-its-kind. He will perform a violin duet with his son Yadnesh.Also in performance at the festival will be artistes including Devaki Pandit, Hemant Pendse, Gayatree Joshi, Manu Shrivastav, Meeta Pandit, Ravindra Parchure, Amarendra Dhaneshwar, Damodar Rao, Ragunandan Panshikar, Shakir Khan, Asawari Patankar, Vishwanath Kanhere, Subhash Parwar and Naresh Madgaonkar.The programme, which will be held at the Dinanath Mangeshkar auditorium, from 10am to 10pm, is free and open to music lovers.
