Cong brings Jan Aakrosh to capital city, slams CM

PANAJI: Continuing its taluka-wise agitation, the Congress party on Friday held a public meeting at the Samadhi of former chief minister Dayanand Bandodkar. “Chief minister Manohar Parrikar has worked for just one month in this entire year.”Around 200 people were present for the public protest – Jan Aakrosh- but most of the party MLAs were absent. The Congress alleged that all these issues were scams.“Mining crisis continues to cause unemployment,” Harlankar said.The Congress has organized the state-wide protest as part of its demand for the state government to appoint a full time chief minister for the state. Some of the issues were the outline development plans, conversion of land and change in zoning, beach cleaning contracts, off-shore casinos, Ketamine drug seizure and lease of tourism property.

Highlighting the Assembly election results in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, the Congress party said that it was time to overthrow the BJP-led coalition government in Goa.“This government has failed to restart mining and has failed to resolve the formaline issue,” Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar said. “Chief minister Manohar Parrikar has worked for just one month in this entire year.”Around 200 people were present for the public protest – Jan Aakrosh- but most of the party MLAs were absent. Tivim MLA Nilkant Harlankar spoke at the meeting where he taunted the BJP government for not being able to restart mining.The party distributed pamphlets where they stated 14 major issues that the state was struggling to resolve. Some of the issues were the outline development plans, conversion of land and change in zoning, beach cleaning contracts, off-shore casinos, Ketamine drug seizure and lease of tourism property. The Congress alleged that all these issues were scams.“Mining crisis continues to cause unemployment,” Harlankar said.The Congress has organized the state-wide protest as part of its demand for the state government to appoint a full time chief minister for the state. “The governor is not acting and is turning a blind eye. The chief secretary is not exercising his powers. The administration is dead,” Chodankar said.
