Class XII board exam to begin 5 days earlier

PANAJI: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has advanced the Class XII public exams for 2019 by a day. The board exam this year will now begin from February 28 for the arts, commerce and science streams and end on March 26. The schedule for the Class X board exam will remain the same and will start on April 2 and end on April 23.While the 2018 Class X exam was held around the same dates, the Class XII test has been brought forward by five days.Close to 36,000 students have registered to appear for the Class X and XII exams of the Goa Board this year. Late arrival beyond 30 minutes after the commencement of examination in each subject shall disqualify the candidate from appearing for the exam.

The schedule for the Class X board exam will remain the same and will start on April 2 and end on April 23.While the 2018 Class X exam was held around the same dates, the Class XII test has been brought forward by five days.Close to 36,000 students have registered to appear for the Class X and XII exams of the Goa Board this year. Fewer students have registered compares to last year. The board is yet to analyse reasons for this.Approximately 19,000 students appear for the Class X public exam, while close to 18,000 answer the Class XII exam each year. “Candidates are advised to be present at their respective place of examination 30 minutes before the commencement of the paper. Late arrival beyond 30 minutes after the commencement of examination in each subject shall disqualify the candidate from appearing for the exam. Candidates shall not be allowed to leave the examination hall before one hour from the commencement of the exam,” the board has said in its instructions.It has also said that under no circumstances will the examinations be postponed even if any day is declared a public holiday.
