Intel to install anticollision devices on Kadamba Balrath buses

PANAJI: The department of information and technology (DoIT) inked three significant agreements with major multinational companies, including America chipset manufacturer Intel Corporation, on Thursday as part of an initiative to put Goa on the startup map in India.Indian blockchain conglomerate Eleven01 and US-based financial software company Intuit were the other companies that inked agreements with the state. These devices will collect data on black spots on roads and later PWD can create the necessary intervention to resolve the black spots where accidents are likely to occur,” said secretary for information and technology Ameya Abhyankar.Abhyankar also announced that the Eleven01 Foundation, which is backed by Tech Mahindra and Nucleus Vision, would explore use cases for an India-specific blockchain protocol in the Goa government.Chief executive officer of Nucleus Vision Abhishek Pitti said that one possible use of the blockchain protocol was in the land records division.“Both Intel and Eleven01 will have a team based in Goa,” Abhyankar said and then added that there was no financial implication on the state government.On January 15, TOI had reported that the state government was likely to ink the MoUs with the three entities.“The outcome that we foresee from the collaboration with Eleven01 is a skill development program which will be started at either incubators or in colleges,” Abhyankar said.Intuit has offered its financial accounting system for free for Goan startups that are certified by the state government under the startup policy.The MoUs were meant to be inked after a high-powered committee meeting where around 35 startups would receive their certifications.However, the meeting was cancelled at the last meeting with sources saying that the meeting could be held next week.
