The government is also in the process of augmenting treated water by 157MLD through various projects to address complaints of drinking water shortage. Selaulim provides drinking water to Margao , Vasco, Quepem, Sanguem and other parts of South Goa.Amthane cater to the water requirements of Bardez and Bicholim. With the 2018 monsoon ending with a 19% deficit, water from the reservoirs must see the state through the upcoming summer.Goa falls within the safe category with regards to ground water levels. PANAJI: Summer is yet to arrive, but Goa’s largest reservoir, Anjunem, has already seen water levels dip to 55%.However, the other four reservoirs that meet the state’s water needs — Selaulim, Amthane, Panchwadi and Chapoli — are filled to capacity as of now. But, some state-specific problems exist.Despite Goa receiving copious rainfall, the steep topography of the adjoining Western Ghats means the water runs off faster.
