Wife refuses sex, irate hubby kills her

Kumar then woke up at 10.30pm and demanded intercourse from his wife.

Odisha native Ashok Panchanam Kumar confessed to police that he killed his wife in a fit of rage after she said offensive things to him about his daughter and refused to have intercourse with him.He surrendered himself to police after the incident. Verna PI Sandesh Chodankar said on Monday that at midnight the accused walked from his house Zorinth, Zuarinagar, to the Birla outpost and told the hawaldar about his crime, who recorded everything and took him to Verna police station.Chodankar said that the couple slept at 9.30pm, along with their children. Kumar then woke up at 10.30pm and demanded intercourse from his wife. She refused and an argument broke out with her telling him "to have sex with some other women or wait till their daughter grows up". This incensed Kumar who then strangled her.The couple has been married for seven years and has a five-year-old daughter and a three-year-old son. Kumar has been in Goa for last 10 years and works as a cleaner on a tanker.It was only when the police team reached his house that the neighbourhood and the victim's mother K V Mary who resides in the next house learnt of the incident. "On Sunday night we had dinner together. It was when the police awoke us that we realised my daughter had been killed," said Mary.The body has been preserved at Goa Medical College and Hospital for a postmortem. Kumar was sent for medical examination. Verna police registered a case under Section 302 of IPC and PI Sandesh Chodankar is investigating the case.
