CCP mayor demands ouster of Smart City CEO

All the debris on the road should be cleared within three days, I have given them a warning,” the mayor said.However, smart city officials say that Madkaikar never sought a list of projects being undertaken in the city from IPSCDL. “I wrote a letter asking for a list of projects that the smart city mission is working on, but I have not received any reply.”The CCP mayor also demanded that IPSCDL should be held responsible for the capital’s poor showing in the recent Swachh Survekshan 2019 nationwide ranking. Panaji: The simmering tension between the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP ) and Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) flared up once again, with CCP mayor Uday Madkaikar calling for IPSCDL chief executive officer Swayandipta Pal Chaudhuri to be ousted.Madkaikar, who held a press conference to vent out his grievance, complained that IPSCDL is keeping the civic body in the dark about development projects that are under way in the city.“Chaudhuri has taken CCP for granted,” said Madkaikar. Speaking to TOI, a smart city official said that Madkaikar has written to CCP on March 19 where he had sought a meeting to discuss the issue of roads being dug up by L&T for a smart city project.When TOI reached out to Chaudhuri, he said that IPSCDL had not received any formal request for a list of projects undertaken under the smart city mission.Madkaikar also said that if the corporation was given Rs 10 crore of the Rs 20 crore earmarked for redevelopment of the IPSCDL office, he could clean up the St Inez creek.
