Cleared 220Margao: Deputy chief minister Manohar ‘Babu’ Azgaokar who joined BJP along with Sanvordem MLA Deepak Pauskar on Wednesday, said that he had done enough party hopping in his political career and he would now stay with the BJP for good.“I migrated from Congress to BJP to MGP and back to BJP. Now I will remain with BJP till the end. I won’t change parties henceforth,” Azgaonkar told reporters on Thursday in the presence of chief minister Pramod Sawant, deputy chief minister Vijai Sardesai, state BJP president Vinay Tendulkar and others.“I have seen all other governments and also this BJP government. Everybody knows the kind of development the BJP brought to Goa. Everybody knows the kind of work ex-chief minister Manohar Parrikar did for Goa. And it is to take forward this work that I have joined BJP,” Azgaonkar said.Taking potshots at MGP, Azgaokar said that the regional outfit which was once the voice of the masses had now become intolerant to any voice of dissent, while pointing out to the recent expulsion of its general secretary Lavoo Mamledar from the party.Stating that MGP had become the fiefdom of the Dhavalikar brothers, Azgaokar pointed out that he and Pauskar were never called for any party meetings. “And that’s why we quit MGP,” he said.
