Panaji: Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) on Wednesday announced that it would contest all the bypolls and enter the Lok Sabha fray in its sole endeavor to defeat the BJPin the state.Former Goa Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief and founder of GSM, Subhash Velingkar said that voters in Goa were disgusted with the current choice of political parties and his party could offer an alternative.“We will contest the Lok Sabha elections and give people an alternative. The names will be declared on March 31,” said Velingkar. “If Panaji byelections are declared, we will contest that too.”Velingkar said that GSM was in talks with Shiv Sena for a pre-poll alliance. “We have to end this mishmash of politics and that is why GSM, with full preparedness, will contest the elections. The cadre workers of all the political parties are greatly disappointed with the things that are happening. The BJP karyakartas, the Congress workers, the MGP workers all are fed up,” the GSM head said.The party plans to complete the first round of campaigning in Mandrem and Shiroda by April 10.GSM criticized the BJP for exploiting the sentiments surrounding former chief minister Manohar Parrikar’s death and accused the BJP of milking votes by conducting the immersion of his ashes in each of the 40 constituencies of Goa. “This government was formed through manipulation but now that it has lost strength, the BJP is using the ashes of Parrikar to win favour and sympathy. But the Asti Visarjan has turned into a flop show,” he said
