PANAJI: The department of animal husbandry, in a public notice issued on Saturday, notified seven animal welfare organisations (AWO) as nodal agencies to respond to complaints of stray cattle In a bid to implement the modified Goa Stray Cattle Management Scheme, 2013, the department also launched helpline numbers linked to contact persons tasked with tackling such situations.“Municipal corporations, councils, panchayats and eligible AWOs, gaushalas and civic and consumer forums shall be responsible to impound stray cattle within their jurisdictions,” the notice states.
