IFFI is known for its film screenings and discussions with renowned film personalities. Last year Goa saw the International Film Festival in a hybrid form. The delegates could experience cinema virtually as well on screens. Speaking about IFFI Vice Chairperson of Entertainment Society of Goa Subhash Phal Desai said last time was a challenging time for IFFI “we didnt know when the Coronavirus wave was coming fortunately we did not suffer any loss due to it” he said. “It was an international hybrid event which we organised successfully. We even received appreciation letters from many people” said Phal Desai. “The Directorate of Film festival is the main body who organises the film festival. We provide them infrastructure but in the last few years we(ESG) have been taking more responsibility on ourselves” said Phal Desai. He informed that If Covid19 situation gets better ESG can consider organising IFFI normally this year.
