Villagers in Goa learn value addition of jackfruit

PANAJI: Jackfruit is available in abundance in Goa but lots of fruits gets wasted due to unawareness of value addition. Hence the home science wing of Krishi Vigyan Kendra recently organised a series of training programme on post-harvest technology and value addition of locally available fruits during the season.These training programmes were organised in order to transfer location specific technologies to the farmers, farm women, young entrepreneurs and other stakeholders of Goa.They were given hands on training on different value added products which can be easily prepared like chips, pickle, squash, jam, halwa, leather, pulp, papad, jackfruit seed products, etc to take this up as an enterprise.
