Turtles caught in fishing nets rescued

Last week, another turtle was rescued and released into the sea at Colva. Panaji: With incidences of Olive Ridley turtles getting entangled in fishing nests on the rise, two flippered amphibians were rescued by Drishti lifeguards at Benaulim and Zalor beach.On Tuesday, Drishti lifeguards Shekhar Velip and Rajesh Mirashi found the turtle struggling in the net. Since it wasn't injured, they released it back into the sea.Two lifeguards Nandesh Velip and Sandesh Gaonkar found another one with an injury on its front flippers at Zalor beach, Carmona, on Monday. It was handed over to forest department officials.
