Amit Shah to preside over Haryana BJP’s core group meeting in Delhi today

CHANDIGARH: Ahead of the general elections, BJP national president Amit Shah will chair a meeting of the party’s Haryana core group in Delhi on Friday.Besides BJP general secretary Suresh Bhatt, party’s Haryana in-charge Anil Jain and chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the meeting is expected to be attended by cabinet ministers Ram Bilas Sharma, Om Prakash Dhankar, Captain Abhimanyu, Anil Vij and Union ministers Krishan Pal Gurjar, Birender Singh and Rao Inderjit Singh CM Khattar is giving final touches to his report card. All his ministerial colleagues and party MLAs have submitted a list of their achievements and contribution to the party over the last three and a half years.Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala said the meeting would focus on preparations for the general elections. Even though the state BJP leadership and chief minister’s office (CMO) refrained from commenting, it is learned that Shah asked the state team to increase the vote margin where party candidates won by fewer votes.BJP has seven Lok Sabha MPs, two Rajya Sabha MPs and 47 MLAs in Haryana. Three out of seven MPs, Ashwani Sharma of Karnal, Dharambir Singh of Bhiwani and Raj Kumar Saini of Kurukshetra, have been making dissenting noises. Dharambir and Saini have been vocal against the party in the past two years.Sources said issues related to replacement of sitting MPs, MLAs, allocation of organizational work to senior leaders and work done by MPs, MLAs and senior leaders to strengthen cadre will be taken up on priority in the meeting, sources said.“This meeting will focus on organizational preparedness for the general elections.
