Gurgaon: A chartered accountancy (CA) student suffered grievous injuries when a gang of assailants allegedly assaulted, robbed and stabbed him after kidnapping him at gunpoint on Saturday night. He was later dumped and left for dead in a sewer in Palam Vihar by the attackers, police said. Gagan Yadav (23), a final year CA student who recently took up a job in Chandigarh, was going to his Rajiv Nagar home for the weekend on Saturday night when he was attacked by three men. An FIR was registered against the accused, police said.“I had dropped my friend Sachin at Palam Vihar around 9pm on Saturday and was returning home when a speeding Swift Dzire hit my scooty from behind. I fell onto the road, and three men came out of the car. Instead of apologising, they started misbehaving with me. One of the men whipped out a gun and held me hostage. They forced me to get into their car at gunpoint,” Gagan said.“They took me to a vacant plot around a kilometre away, where four men were drinking together. They all started thrashing me and demanded cash and valuables. They snatched my mobile phone, gold chain and around Rs 20,000 which I had in my possession. I thought that they’d let me go then, but they continued thrashing me. I begged them for mercy to no avail. They also stabbed me repeatedly with a knife, and I lost consciousness. I woke up on Monday morning in the hospital ,” he said.The accused had left him to die in a sewer near Sarai Alawardi village, cops said. A passerby informed police around 1am on Sunday, and they took Gagan to hospital. He gained consciousness only on Monday and gave a statement to police. According to doctors, his condition is stable now.“They not only robbed and thrashed him, but also stabbed him in the neck, left leg and stomach. They could have left him after robbing him, but they tried to kill him. We want strict action against the accused,” said Babita Yadav, a relative.After recording his statement, cops filed an FIR against the unidentified accused under sections 323 (causing hurt), 325 (grievous hurt), 367 (kidnapping in order to subject person to grievous hurt), 379B (snatching and use of force) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC and section 25-54-59 of Arms Act at Bajghera police station.“An FIR has been registered. Gagan couldn’t recall the registration number of the car. We are trying to identify the car and accused with the help of CCTV footage from nearby areas. The accused will be arrested soon,” said SHO Ajay Kumar, Bajghera police station.
