We’re adding new high-capacity transformers and replacing bare conductor lines with cables that resist faults to a greater degree,” a senior official told TOI.Officials said seven new transformers have been allocated to DLF sub-division. “We are installing two transformers in Sector 28, one in Sector 27, one in Chakkarpur, two in Pragati Vihar and one in DLF 4. We’ve already installed 17-km-long wiring in the sub-division, which has helped stabilize supply. We have also replaced 500m of high-tension lines in DLF 2,” the official said.The discom is also installing eight new transformers in South City and five in Maruti divisions.Officials said installation would be completed in the next 10 days. “The latest augmentation drive is aimed at ending overloading and fluctuation problems that are being reported from many areas across the city. All these transformers have a capacity of 200 kVA each and will greatly enhance the capacity of the system,” the official added.Talking about recurrent outages in DLF 3, the official said, “The problem has been resolved in most of the area. There are individual pockets where power cuts are still reported, but we hope to resolve them soon,” officials said.
