The accused opened the door and fired twice, one bullet at his head, another at his shoulder. The driver tried to escape, but was overpowered. He wrestled to free himself and tried to run, but was shot from the rear on his left shoulder.Police said accused were assigned to murder a HSIIDC official and would have killed any officer present at the spot. It so happened that the patwari alone was present at that time, and he was murdered.
