The demand for goats will continue till a few hours before Eid namaz.”Among the buyers, there are those who prefer a reasonably-priced goat while others are looking for goats of a specific colour, height and health and price does not matter to them. About the latter, a vendor from Mewat said, “We have goats for such customers starting from Rs 20,000.”“From painting the goat’s horns in bright colours to tying colourful leashes and anklets, the more decorated a goat is, the better are its prospects of being sold at a high price,” said Qureshi.
