GURUGRAM: Residents are in for a respite from the humid weather as a fresh spell of rainfall is likely to push down temperatures by the end of this week, a forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has revealed. Monsoon showers are expected to lash parts of city over the next 2-4 days. The drop in mercury is likely to result in a momentary reprieve from the hot and humid weather. On Tuesday, while skies were overcast, high humidity levels caused huge discomfort to residents. Though thunderstorms and light showers had been forecast for Tuesday, no rains occurred.Meanwhile, pollution has also marginally increased in the city. According to figures given by Central Pollution Control Board, the highest level of PM 2.5 recorded in the city on Tuesday was 89.63 micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³), a rise from from 54.29µg/m³ reported a day before. Slower wind speed led to rise in particulate matter, officials said. The AQI level stood at 252 on Tuesday, which is classified as ‘poor’.
