Haryana CM faces protest from farmers' union during Naraingarh rally

Though the BKU continued their protest and showed black flags to other ministers on route to Naraingarh rally and they also raised slogans against the Haryana government. AMBALA: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday visited Naraingarh block of the district for a farmer thanksgiving rally. CM said the state government will bear the losses faced by the farmers, and they will get only get the benefits. Earlier the CM was to go to Naraingarh rally through this road on which the Naraingarh mill is situated, but as the BKU was protesting and they had announced to show black flags to CM, therefore his route was changed. The rally was organised to promote the ' Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana ' (BBY) of the state government.

AMBALA: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday visited Naraingarh block of the district for a farmer thanksgiving rally. The rally was organised to promote the ' Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana ' (BBY) of the state government. The main objective of this scheme is to give the fair price of crops to the farmers.The literal meaning of this scheme is 'bhav' means price, 'antar' means difference, and 'bharpai' means compensation, collectively it becomes the difference between the current price of crop and base price fixed by the state government, and if the farmers sells their produce below the base price, then the state government will compensate. This scheme was launched by the state government on January 1, 2018, within the state.The CM laid the foundation stone of 10 projects worth Rs 134 crore, and during the event the state agriculture minister Om Prakash Dhankar, state ministers Nayab Saini, Karan Dev Kamboj , Manish Grover, Krishan Bedi, and the Ambala Member of Parliament Ratan Lal Kataria were also present. This rally was organised by the state minister of Labour and Employment and Mines and Geology Nayab Saini, who is also the legislative member of the Naraingarh constituency.CM said this BBY is especially for the vegetable farmers who face more losses than the other farmers of other agricultural products. CM said the state government will bear the losses faced by the farmers, and they will get only get the benefits. Earlier the farmers used to throw away the damaged crop, but now this will not happen as the government will help the farmers in selling the vegetables through the government registered agencies.Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar said, “This BBY will be very much beneficial for the vegetable farmers as this scheme has been redesigned and now the farmers will surely get its benefit. If need be the scheme can be restructured in future as well.Sugarcane farmers stage protest outside Naraingarh sugar mill, show flag blacks, burn effigy of CM.On the other hand, the Haryana unit of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) staging a protest since September 4 against the state government has burnt the effigy of the CM Manohar Lal Khattar and state minister Nayab Saini. Earlier the CM was to go to Naraingarh rally through this road on which the Naraingarh mill is situated, but as the BKU was protesting and they had announced to show black flags to CM, therefore his route was changed. Though the BKU continued their protest and showed black flags to other ministers on route to Naraingarh rally and they also raised slogans against the Haryana government. The BKU is protesting for sugarcane farmers of this region for their pending payment of Rs 77 crore from the Naraingarh mill as the state government in a meeting with BKU on August 29 had denied making any payments to this mill due to the pending loan amounts.
