GD Goenka World School Celebrates Recognition Day

Today`s students are involved in a wide variety of activities in and out of the classroom. To celebrate the success and accomplishments of student’s recognition is needed to encourage achievement and motivate students to perform at their highest level. To celebrate these achievements GDGWS organises Recognition Day every year. On this occasion Dr. Gaurav Vallab, Dean, XLRI Jamshedpur was invited as the Chief Guest.

Recognition Day is a momentous occasion in the life of a student. GDGWS awarded187 students from CLS, IGCSE and IBDP batches who have excelled in academics and have scored distinctions and merits, in sports students have been recognised for bringing laurels in swimming, badminton, basketball,in the literary- musical contests, theatre, 100% attendance, Spell bees, Olympiad, Art, MUN, Debate, School events, in CAS, and other areas and have brought honor to the School.

During recognition Day, most prestigious award the Chairman’s Award instituted by the Chairman of G D Goenka Schools Mr.A K Goenkais given to students who show exemplary performance every year. This year’s recipients are Parnika Purwar, IBDP student, she has not only scored the highest scores this year in IBDP and has joined Miranda House, University of Delhi for higher education but has also contributed in community services. For IGCSE 2017 batch, award was shared by Diwaker Gupta and Akanxa Swami and for 2018 it went to Arpit Kumar. Toppers in both categories have been awarded one lacs cash award and fifty thousand cash award respectively.

The mesmerizing indo-western dance performance, the enchanting group song, and the synchronized band performance were epitomes of students’ abilities.

Rejoice! Celebrate every little achievement that you have in life. I congratulate all the students on their achievement and for the honor that they have brought to the School. The ability to help build positive self-esteem is the most powerful tool a recognition program can provide, said Dr. Neeta Bali, Director Principal, GDGWS.
