Extra floors of EWS homes in DLF 3 razed

GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning (DTCP) sealed and demolished additional floors of the economically weaker section ( EWS )-category houses in DLF 3 on Thursday. Additionally, FIRs will be registered against these plot owners under Urban Areas Act, 1975.”Last week, the deputy commissioner had instructed DTCP to take strict action against unauthorised floors on EWS plots and illegal colonies. Earlier, officials had identified 187 houses in the area with additional floors and issued notices to violators. The power and water connections to these houses will be discontinued too.The drive was conducted in the U-Block of DLF 3 in the presence of 300 armed cops who managed law and order in the area.The additional floors of two EWS houses were demolished.

GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning (DTCP) sealed and demolished additional floors of the economically weaker section ( EWS )-category houses in DLF 3 on Thursday. The power and water connections to these houses will be discontinued too.The drive was conducted in the U-Block of DLF 3 in the presence of 300 armed cops who managed law and order in the area.The additional floors of two EWS houses were demolished. The houses had seven floors on 60 yards of land. According to Haryana Building Code, construction up to a height of 15 metres and four floors is allowed on EWS plots. Also, mobile towers erected on two other buildings were sealed by the enforcement team. The plots are to be used for residential purposes only.An unauthorised gate on a green belt of DLF 4 was also sealed and it was covered with a Mattel sheet to stop unauthorised access. Officials had intended to take action in a dozen cases but the drive was strongly opposed by plot owners. It took two hours for officials to reach an agreement with residents. Local representatives assured them that they would circulate a message to prevent unauthorised constructions in the area. Officials gave them two days to revise floor plans and remove additional floors.Around a month ago, officials with DTCP’s enforcement wing had sealed half-a-dozen houses in DLF 4. Earlier, officials had identified 187 houses in the area with additional floors and issued notices to violators. Ved Prakash district town planner (enforcement) has recommended to DHBVN that the electricity connections to these 187 houses be discontinued. He said,“We have also requested DTP (planning) to cancel occupation certificates for raising unauthorised constructions. Additionally, FIRs will be registered against these plot owners under Urban Areas Act, 1975.”Last week, the deputy commissioner had instructed DTCP to take strict action against unauthorised floors on EWS plots and illegal colonies.
