20-year-old thrashed to death by cousins over Rs 100

Together they thrashed Tara with bricks, cops said.Tara sustained head injuries in the attack but rather than taking it seriously, he got the injury bandaged and went to the factory as usual on Monday. The argument soon turned violent when Ravi started beating Tara black and blue. Soon, their three cousins — Satish, Subhash and Lakhan — joined the fight and all of them took Ravi’s side. GURUGRAM: A fight among five cousins over a paltry sum of Rs 100 cost one of them his life.The 20-year-old youth succumbed to his head injuries on Wednesday evening, three days after being thrashed by his four cousins with bricks.The five, all from Rajasthan , lived in a rented accommodation at Pathreri village in Bilaspur and all of them worked in the same factory on Fathepur-Tauru Road.The main accused, Ravi, has been arrested, police said on Friday. According to police, Ravi had borrowed Rs 100 from the victim, Tara Chand, some days back. On Sunday, an argument broke out between them at a local eatery when Ravi flatly refused to return the money to Tara. The argument soon turned violent when Ravi started beating Tara black and blue. Soon, their three cousins — Satish, Subhash and Lakhan — joined the fight and all of them took Ravi’s side. Together they thrashed Tara with bricks, cops said.Tara sustained head injuries in the attack but rather than taking it seriously, he got the injury bandaged and went to the factory as usual on Monday. But on Wednesday evening, he started vomiting and was rushed to a private hospital by his landlord, where he was declared brought dead by doctors, cops said.On the complaint of Tara’s father on Thursday, an FIR has been registered against the four accused at Bilaspur police station. In his complaint, the victim’s father has claimed his son had told him over the phone that his four cousins thrashed him on Sunday.“We have booked all the accused under sections 302 (murder), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 34 (common intention) of IPC at Bilaspur police station and arrested Ravi. He has confessed to his crime. Efforts are on to nab other accused,” said inspector Arun Kumar, SHO of Bilaspur police station.
