AMBALA: Police here have booked an Ambala resident for keeping a married woman in confinement for the last one year in Zirakpur. The woman, who is a resident of Roopnagar, got married in Deoband, Uttar Pradesh . As per the information, the accused had promised her that he would settle down with her in South Korea In her complaint, the woman told cops that she met the accused via Facebook . She said that the accused told her that he was working as an engineer in a company in South Korea. "He said that he would provide me a job there," the complainant said. She told cops that the accused after giving her some intoxicating substance, raped her and recorded video. "He then started blackmailing me. On June 25, he went to Deoband and took Rs 5 lakh and all my jewellery," the complainant told cops.The police said that the accused took the woman to a hotel in Ambala on June 27 and allegedly raped her there as well. He then took her to his flat in Zirakpur where she was confined for the last one year. The complainant finally managed to flee.The complainant told cops that the accused called her again and demanded money from her, but this time she refused. The accused then sent the video to her family members."We have registered a case against the accused under Section 328 (causing hurt by means of poison with intent to commit an offence), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 376 (punishment for rape) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code "The medical has been conducted and her statements have been recorded in front of the magistrate. We have initiated the investigation. Our teams are raiding placed to nab the accused," said inspector Sunita.
