Rabiu Afaolabi, Nigerian footballer came as chief guest for 5th Goenkan Trident, inter school sports held at G D Goenka World School.
The 5th Goenkan Trident, inter school sports event was held recently at G D Goenka World School, Sohna Branch with great zeal and enthusiasm. The gala sports event drew a crowd of 350 young athletes from Gurgaon schools.
The competitions were of soccer, squash and basketball. The sports meet was inaugurated by the GDGWS Director Principal, Dr Neeta Bali. She said every sportsman should play to win and bring laurels to himself and his school. She also encouraged the students and advised them to take part in the games and other co- curricular activities whenever and wherever organised.
The chief guest for the valedictory ceremony was Rabiu Afaolabi, Nigerian footballer. He congratulated the winning teams and encouraged the students with his words of wisdom. He advised the students to balance sports and education simultaneously.
The winning teams were awarded with Certificates and Trophies. The event was a thrilling experience for all.
The school looks forward to the sports event year after year with more vigour and enthusiasm.
