GURUGRAM: A 50-year-old woman, alumni of Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT ) Kharagpur, has filed a complaint against her husband domestic help and the latter’s son, alleging harassment and torture.According to the woman, who is a resident of Ardee City in Sector 52, her husband— who works at a senior position in a private company — is having an extra marital affair with their domestic help and when she objected to it they subjected her to mental harassment and also tortured her to leave the house.“We have a 22-year-old son who is mentally challenged. We hired a full-time domestic help through a placement agency a few months ago to take care of my son,” she told the police.On June 24, according to the complainant, she had argument with her husband over his illicit relationship, following which he physically assaulted her. On August 15, she was allegedly raped by her husband who also forced her to have unnatural sex.“When the woman informed the domestic help’s son about his mother relationship, he too allegedly took his mother’s side and asked the complainant to leave her husband and walk out of the house,” said police spokesperson Subhash Bokan.In another case, a 32-year-old woman filed a complaint against her husband and her parents-in-law alleging that the physically abused her and also threatened to kill her over dowry. She said her husband and her in-laws keep demanding money from her parents, despite her father paying lakhs of amount at several intervals.Both cases are registered at Women’s police station, Sector 51 under sections 498A(dowry harassment), 354(molestation), 34(common intention) , 377( unnatural sex), 509(insulting the modesty of a woman ) and 506(criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
