Juvenile gets 20-year jail for rape, murder of 6-year-old Hisar girl

HISAR: A court in Hisar on Wednesday sentenced a juvenile to 20 years in prison for rape, torture and murder of a six-year-old girl and directed him to pay Rs 80,000 as fine. They alleged the government had paid only Rs 4.12 lakh and had not built a house for them as promised. The juvenile was also put through a narco analysis test, brain mapping and polygraph test.The convict will be shifted to a jail when he turns 21 years old. The cops had also pasted posters about the same across Uklana.After investigation, the police booked a minor in the case on December 14, 2017. The girl’s parents, who belong to the Sapera community, were satisfied with the judgment, but complained that compensation of Rs 10 lakh, promised by the state government, had not been fully paid to them.

The special court of Juvenile Justice (Care and Prevention of Child) judge D R Chaliya had convicted the boy on September 12.The 6-year-old daughter of a dalit couple, who lived with her family in a tent-like structure on roadside in Hisar's suburban town of Uklana, was kidnapped by the juvenile on the night of December 7, 2017.Her body was found in the empty quarters of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited the next morning and a case of rape and murder was registered against an unknown person.About 24cm long stick had been forcibly inserted in the girl, damaging her uterus and intestines.The post-mortem report said stated, “The victim died due to the torture perpetrated by inserting wooden stick into her private parts and the stick was inserted with force which not only caused serious injuries inside uterus but also in the intestine.”The Haryana government had announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for anyone giving any clue about the killer/s or any indication that could lead to the killer/s. The cops had also pasted posters about the same across Uklana.After investigation, the police booked a minor in the case on December 14, 2017. As the accused was above 16 years, under the new law, the case was heard in the special court under the Juvenile Justice Act.Hisar deputy district attorney Rajeev Sardana said the punishment was pronounced on circumstantial evidence and the juvenile, who is above 18 years old now, had made an extra-judicial confession before the district child protection officer, Sunita Yadav during her visit to the observation home, where he had been lodged after his arrest. The juvenile was also put through a narco analysis test, brain mapping and polygraph test.The convict will be shifted to a jail when he turns 21 years old.
