CHANDIGARH : Haryana DGP B S Sandhu, who was due to retire on September 30, got a three-month extension in service on Wednesday. Later, they realized that Sandhu’s request for extension was likely to be finalized, and the notification issued in the morning was withdrawn,” a senior officer in the police headquarters said. However, three other DGP-level officers — A K Dhull, R M Singh and Sudhir Chaudhary — will retire as scheduled.Interestingly, Sandhu’s service extension has come within a week after the Union home ministry giving a three-month extension to Punjab DGP Suresh Arora.Earlier in the day, the home department issued a notification regarding Sandhu’s retirement but withdrew it later. Sandhu was due to retire on September 30, but the department last month sent a proposal for his seven-month extension in service.“In fact, the orders of his retirement were issued in routine as two other officers are also due to retire on September 30.
