Crime against women: Haryana Congress submits memorandum to governor

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Congress on Thursday met Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya in the wake of a rapid increase in the crime against Women in the state.Headed by HPCC President Ashok Tanwar , Congress delegates from all over the state handed over a memorandum to the governor requesting him to direct the state government to take appropriate measures over the increasing rate of crime in the state"There is hardly any day when we don’t hear the news related to crime against women, now, the incident of Rewari Faridabad is the height. In some of the incidents police is found to be on the wrong side for having failed to take action,’’ said Tanwar.During the last year over 1500 rape incidents took place in Haryana, it means three such incidents a day, this is a very grim situation, he added.Tanwar said that transfer of police officer would not act as deter, but the government must show its seriousness by prompt action and maximum conviction Earlier during the day, Tanwar also formally launched the Shakti App and addressed members of the state executive.
