GURUGRAM: Two men from Gujarat, who were driving to Ahmedabad from Delhi, were allegedly robbed of Rs 4.5 crore by a gang of 12 men on Thursday night. The accused stole their car, tied up their hands and left them stranded on a field near Rajasthan border. The duo managed to reach a roadside dhaba, from where they called up the police.According to the complaint filed by Karan Patel, he was travelling to Ahmedabad from Delhi’s Chandni Chowk and his colleague Gajender Rathore carrying Rs 4.5 crore in a Toyota Etios when they were targeted by the robbers. They were carrying the cash belonging to P. Vijay Kumar Company, where they are employed as drivers.“We started from Chandni Chowk after 6.30pm. Around 8.40pm, when we entered Haryana, somewhere near Dharuhera in Rewari , my boss called me and within minutes, I could see three cars trailing us. Before we could realise what was happening, they had already trapped us.“A Toyota Endeavour came in front of our car, a Honda City came on one side and a Tata Vista banged into our car from behind. They forced us to stop. Soon, around a dozen armed men stepped out,” Patel said in his complaint. Patel also said the robbers were well aware of their route, and the amount of cash they were carrying, as after stepping out of their cars, they said they were waiting for them.“They forced us to sit in the Honda City, while some of their men got into ours. They packed the cash in a cardboard box and also took away our mobile phones. We were scared, so we did not fight back. After driving around for an hour, they covered our mouths, and tied up legs and hands before dumping us in a field. We somehow managed to free our selves with the help of passersby,” Patel said.Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against the men under sections 395 (dacoity), and 397 (dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) of the IPC and Section 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at Dharuhera police station.“We are investigating the case,” said inspector Jagdish Prasad, Dharuhera police station, SHO. “We have formed four special teams, including a Cyber crime team.
