GURUGRAM: A 27-year-old man has been booked for allegedly molesting a minor girl (11) on Thursday in Kherki Daula According to the girl’s father, accused Subodh Pandey — originally from Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh — lived on the first floor of the same building, where the girl along with her family lives on the ground floor. Both the victim’s family and the accused have been living there as tenants.On Thursday evening, finding the girl alone at home, Pandey allegedly entered the house and molested her. While leaving, he apparently threatened the girl of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident. However, when the girl’s father returned home after a few hours, she confided in him. He then made a PCR call and a police team reached the house but by then Pandey had gone absconding.An FIR was registered under Section 8 of the POCSO Act at the Women police station in Manesar against Pandey and he was arrested on Friday from Kherki Daula area. “Pandey confessed to his crime and was produced in a city court on Friday that sent him to judicial custody,” said inspector Kanta Devi, SHO of Women police station, Manesar.
