Teenager siblings die after roof collapses due to heavy rain in Ambala

Later, the money of the CT Scan was also returned to the family and all the treatments of the injured were done free. When I reached the hospital, four injured persons were there, and two of the children were brought dead. Ambala Cantonment station house officer, inspector Vijay said, “The bodies of the deceased children have been handed over to the family members after conducting the post-mortem at the hospital for the last rites. So far, we have not received any complaint in this regard.”

AMBALA: In an unfortunate incident here,two teenager siblings identified as Honey (12) and Sheetal (15) have died after the mud-roof of their house in Dalipgarh area of Ambala Cantonment collapsed in the morning due to heavy rain in the region.Four other family members of the deceased children, including parents and two relatives, were admitted to Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment in an injured state.The family members alleged that there was no doctor present in the hospital emergency when they arrived with the injured children. They added that the hospital staff asked them to first deposit Rs 1,050 of hospital treatment fees for CT Scan , which lead to delay in treatment and the children died in the hospital.Dr Satish, senior medical officer, Ambala Cantonment said, “Two doctors were present on emergency duty in the hospital and I visited the hospital as per my routine. The hospital has the facility of CT Scan on Public-Private Partnership mode, therefore the staff must have asked for the payment of the said test. When I reached the hospital, four injured persons were there, and two of the children were brought dead. Later, the money of the CT Scan was also returned to the family and all the treatments of the injured were done free. The post-mortem of the deceased children was also done by a board of medical officers.” Haryana health minister Anil Vij reached the hospital later along with his supporters, but he was not allowed to see the deceased and the injured persons by the raging family members. Ambala Cantonment station house officer, inspector Vijay said, “The bodies of the deceased children have been handed over to the family members after conducting the post-mortem at the hospital for the last rites. So far, we have not received any complaint in this regard.”
