Ambala: One held after man dies of injuries inflicted in scuffle

At this, Ravi reminded him that he already owes some money following which both indulged in a heating argument.Chand stated that "Ravi started assaulting Irfan and I tried to save him.

AMBALA: Police on Saturday arrested a street vendor for allegedly inflicting injuries on his customer resulting in his death.A case was registered at the Parao police station against one Ravi under section 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) on the complaint of Chand, a resident of Vrindavan in Mathura district.The complaint said that he along with his relative Irfan had gone to Ravi's egg stall late on September 17.Chand said that after eating eggs at the stall, accused Ravi asked Irfan to pay for it. Irfan denied having money with him at the time and promised to pay later. At this, Ravi reminded him that he already owes some money following which both indulged in a heating argument.Chand stated that "Ravi started assaulting Irfan and I tried to save him. Then Irfan started running away from Ravi in an attempt to save himself, and while running the Ravi pushed him from the back after which he fell on the road. Irfan received some serious injuries on his face and left eye and Ravi kept hitting. I shouted for help and then some passersby gathered to rescue Irfan and Ravi fled from the spot."Irfan was taken to Civil Hospital where on the same night both parties reached to a compromise.On September 19, Irfan's health deteriorated and he was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital where he died on Friday.Investigation officer Balkar Singh said, “After arresting the accused Ravi, he was presented before the court, which has sent him to judicial custody. Further proceedings will be done as per the investigation.”
