Alert sounded in Ambala due to heavy rainfall warning

DC instructed the secretaries to motivate the farmers that during the heavy rain they must not bring the crops to the markets. Therefore, it is important to keep alertness. DC said we have already ordered all the concerned officials of the district administration but the residents will also need to stay alert.DC has also ordered the secretaries of all the market committees in the district to make proper and relevant arrangements for safeguarding the paddy and other crops in the grain markets. DC said the crops which are kept in open areas in grain markets often get wet due to rain, leading to losses to farmers and the government agencies, therefore it is the joint responsibility of the market committees, purchasing agencies, and the Arthiyas to make sure the crops are safe and secured. AMBALA: The Ambala district administration has sounded an alert in view of a forcast of heavy rainfall asking people to stay away from the water bodies.Acting on the alert issued by the IMD, the deputy commissioner (DC) Sharandeep Kaur Brar has appealed the residents to stay away from rivers, drainage, and ponds as the water level might rise suddenly due to heavy rain.The administration has ordered all the sarpanches, numberdars, patwaris, and the village secretaries that they must appeal to the villagers living near the water bodies, that in case of high level of water they must refrain from going towards the direction of water bodies and to also keep a vigil eye on the children and livestock that they do not go towards the rivers or ponds in the rainy days.DC said the high water flow can lead to any untoward incident.
