AMBALA: Police have arrested four men for their alleged involvement in cheating in a Group-D railway examination.Two of the accused, identified as Sonu and Jasmer singh, are residents of Anupgarh village in Jind district.As per the sources, the duo had hired two imposters for writing the exam in their place.On September 28, on the complaint of the venue observer Gulshan Kumar, the district police had registered a case under various sections of IPC while the two accused imposters were also arrested earlier on the day from the exam venue.Investigation officer Suresh said, “A case under section 120-B, 419, and 420 of Indian Penal Code was registered and the two imposters identified as Sarmad Wani and Pradeep were rounded up on the day of the exam from the venue. The matter was being investigated and we have managed to arrest two more accused who were the actual candidates. Presently our investigation is underway and we cannot disclose any more details.”On September 28, the Parao police station received a complaint from venue observer of ION Digital Zone, Shahpur, Ambala alleging that during the second session of the examination, they had found two imposters sitting in examination hall in place of actual candidates. The imposter Sarmad Wani, a resident Varsha Nagar in Srinagar was writing exam in place of Sonu while Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Delhi, was writing exam in place of Jasmer Singh.TOI contacted senior railway officials of the Ambala division, but they refused to provide any information about the examination as the matter is under investigation.
