More than 50% of deaths in road accidents are caused by head injury, followed by other body injuries. “In India, our ambulances take at least 20-30 minutes, by that time the chances to save the patient’s life becomes slim due to excessive blood loss.” Nearly 40% of road accident victims belong to the age group of 21 to 30 years, and more men than women died in accidents, the data showed.“The most common type of injury in a road accident happens to head, which is one of the most sensitive areas of the human body. Gurgaon: As vehicular traffic in the state is on the rise and flouting traffic rules seems to be the norm, head injuries, along with injuries in other parts of the body, make for the single largest reason of death in road accident cases, according to the data compiled by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The state recorded 10,482 accidents in 2013, which went up to 11,234 deaths in 2016.
