Man forges degree to bag assistant vice president job in Gurugram, booked

GURUGRAM: A 40-year-old Greater Noida resident was booked for allegedly securing the position of assistant vice- president (AVP) in an Udyog Vihar-based company using a fake degree and mark sheet of chemical engineering . He submitted a degree of chemical engineering and a mark sheet. Five months after, the mark sheet turned out to be fake during routine verification. The accused joined the firm around 10 months ago. He was selected and he joined as the company AVP.

GURUGRAM: A 40-year-old Greater Noida resident was booked for allegedly securing the position of assistant vice- president (AVP) in an Udyog Vihar-based company using a fake degree and mark sheet of chemical engineering . The accused joined the firm around 10 months ago. The fraud was discovered around five months ago.An FIR was registered against the accused, Rajesh Kumar Thakur, at Udyog Vihar police station on Thursday.According to the complaint filed by Munender Chauhan, legal head of Power 2SME Private Limited, Thakur submitted a degree of chemical engineering and subsequent mark sheet at the time of his joining. Both documents turned out to be fake, following which the firm approached police.“The company had advertised vacancy for the post of AVP a year ago and held interviews for the same. Thakur too was one of the candidates. He submitted a degree of chemical engineering and a mark sheet. He was selected and he joined as the company AVP. Five months after, the mark sheet turned out to be fake during routine verification. When he was questioned, he quit the job. We called him to the office but he never showed up and stopped taking our calls,” Chauhan said in his complaint.The matter was probed by the economic offences wing (EOW) and the allegations were found true, following which EOW recommended to file an FIR.As per the recommendation of EOW, an FIR was registered against the accused under sections 468 (forgery), and 471 (using forged document as genuine) of the IPC at Udyog Vihar police station.
